Our main focus is on archetypal works, on sculptures imbued with a soul from the ancient civilisations of Africa and Oceania.

Laurent
Laurent Granier specialises in fine ethnographic and ceremonial artworks from pre-1930 Africa and Oceania.
He has been collecting ancient arts from Africa and Oceania for over 20 years.
An expert in Sepik art, Laurent has written entry notes for leading auction houses, compiled essays, studies and provenance researches for collectors and dealers as well as managed projects in partnership with major museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural History.
Laurent is a Member of the Tribal Art Society since 2020.




Curating
Granier | Ancient selects artworks based on their artistic merit, age, rarity and provenance. Each piece is documented and comes with a detailed study.
Hunting the finest pieces from the "pre-1930" era only, and documenting them properly, is what we continually do.




Displaying
All prices include a custom-made stand by master base-maker Romain Laforêt, from Lyon (where necessary) and is accompanied by its original photographic print (on request)
Promoting the French regional "savoir-faire" is part of our philosophy.



Seeing and Receiving
Artworks can be seen at our French Brittany loft gallery or by appointment in Paris, London and Brussels.
We also ship worldwide with your choice of courier.
