Granier ⎮Ancient is an independent gallery specializing in selected African and Oceanic art, with a focus on pre-1930 works. The gallery was founded by Laurent Granier on the conviction that the oldest layer of corpus is also the most revealing.
Objects are selected for formal strength, material integrity, rarity and impeccable traceability.
Granier ⎮Ancient is a member of the Tribal Art Society since 2020.
Laurent
Laurent Granier has been collecting and studying African and Oceanic art for over twenty-five years.
An expert in Sepik art, he has worked closely with collectors, dealers, auction houses and museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural History.
Advisory
Alongside the gallery's selection of works, Granier | Ancient offers discreet advisory support to collectors on acquisitions, pricing, and collection coherence. Advisory is approached as an extension of the same discipline of looking: precise, independent, and selective.
